Yew Tree Farm with its distinctive ‘spinning gallery’ is in the beautiful Lake District, in a stunning picturesque setting it is ideally located for all Lakeland activities. The Farm House was built in 1693 and is one of the most photographed farms in the North.

Yew tree was owned by Beatrix Potter in the 1930s and is still home to many of her furnishings, Yew Tree farm featured as ‘Hill Top’ in the movie ‘Miss Potter’ starring Rene Zellweger.

We offer five star historic guest accommodation in the Farmhouse, you can take a break from the modern world and step back in time. Our guest quarters have been exquisitely refurbished working with all the original features, we have interior designed in period style enhancing the exceptional character and friendly atmosphere.

Why not step back in time by walking to our historic tea room furnished by Beatrix potter herself in 1930, fireside seating in winter and extra seating in the garden for sunny days. Our menu is simple, seasonal and all prepared from scratch to perfection in the farmhouse kitchen.

A working Farm, the 600acres of farmland includes the breathtaking scenery of Tarn Hows and Holme Fell and supports both Belted Galloway cattle and Herdwick sheep. You can buy our delicious beef and lamb direct from the farm we deliver anywhere in the UK.
