We are graded by Quality in Tourism as 5 star Farmhouse Accommodation

Under the British Common Standard for Guest Accommodation, Yew Tree Farm achieves a Five Star Farmhouse rating.

One feature of the Standard is that the key areas of the business (housekeeping, hospitality, bedrooms, bathrooms and breakfast) must be of an equivalent quality to the overall rating awarded. The majority of these areas should therefore meet or exceed the quality expected at a particular star level for that rating to be achieved.

Following this assessment the establishment meets these requirements, enabling the rating indicated above to be confirmed.

Miss Potter filming at Yew Tree Farm

MISS POTTER is an enchanting love story inspired by the life of Beatrix Potter - the most successful children’s author of all time.

Set in London and the Lake District in 1902, the film stars Academy Award winner Renée Zellweger as Beatrix Potter, and charts the developments of her early career and views on the world as she opens her eyes to the true nature of her relationship with her publisher, Norman Warne (Ewan McGregor). Despite delighting generations of children with her tales, there is one that she has kept secret.... until now.

The Lake District is just as enchanting as it looks in the new Miss Potter movie, but its hotels are often disappointing. Fiona Duncan finds a selection that won't break the bank - or the magical spell of the area.

For once, The Man was in a good temper at the end of a journey. On the motorway, driving north, he was, as usual, full of moans - complaining about the way other motorists were driving (which was silly because they could not hear him) and complaining about me for lying on the back seat instead of navigating (which is sillier still because I am a dog).
